Marine Engineers (Mechanical & Electrical) – Falmouth
Who we are looking for
We are looking for Marine Engineers with either Mechanical or Electrical bias or both.
About the job
Salary: £11-£14 per hour. Paid Weekly
Hours: 43 hours a week with OT available at a flat rate
8.00am – 17:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am – 15.30pm on a Friday
Benefits: £1000 tool allowance bonus after 2 years service.
The company, design, build and repair high-quality boats, motor launches, yachts and superyacht tenders.
The role will be varied and will depend on the applicant’s expertise, however, will be either a mechanical or electrical-based Marine Engineer position.
It is not essential to have experience with all of the below, however, the ideal Mechancial candidate will:
- Be experienced with Marine Engines including Shaft Drives and Out Drives
- Have experience with Engine Installation including: Line-ups, Testing and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing on both Refit and new production vessels.
- Have experience of diesel engines
- Be competent in fitting all mechanical components
- Be able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Install, or direct the installation of engines or systems from detailed drawings and schematics
- Evaluate operation of marine equipment during acceptance trials and shakedown cruises
- Confer with superiors and design personnel in order to clarify or resolve problems, and to develop or modify designs
- Investigate and observe tests on machinery and equipment for compliance with standards
- Conduct environmental, operational, or performance tests on marine machinery and equipment
- Prepare technical reports for use by engineering, management, or sales personnel
- Maintain records of engineering department activities, including expense records and details of equipment maintenance and repairs
- Service heating, ventilation, refrigeration, water and sewage systems
- Perform services and winterisation to inboard diesel engines
Electrical Candidate will need experience of:
- Electrical fit-out and wiring boat looms.
